Remington announces recall on 887 Shotgun

Let me first say that if you purchased a Remington 887 shotgun from Parker Arms & Gunsmithing your firearm is not affected by this recall. I have checked our records and verified the serial #'s of the 887"s sold here. The 887's sold here DO NOT fall into the recall group.
If you purchased an 887 elsewhere, or know of someone with a Remington 887, STOP using it immediately until you go to the link below and check the serial #.

PRODUCTS: Remington is voluntarily recalling Remington Model 887™ shotguns manufactured from December 1, 2013 to November 24, 2014.

Brass vs. Steel Cased Ammo

This debate will go on forever and with good cause.
Personally I prefer not to use steel cased ammo in my firearms, I am meticulous about the care of my guns and prefer to use only quality brass cased ammo in them.
Here is a link to an article on that does an excellent job of testing both brass and steel cased ammo in identical firearms and comparing the results.
This is a long read with tons of data that may end the debate in your own mind. It has reinforced my reasons for choosing the ammo I do.

Q: How does the legalization of marijuana in CO affect gun ownership?

A: the simple answer is, it will still be illegal for a user of marijuana or any other Federally controlled substance to purchase, posess, or transfer firearms or ammunition.

The ATF has been very clear on this and here is a link to the open letter to FFL's.
